Planning a trip to this beautiful place I currently call home; New Providence Island, Bahamas? The Bahamas have seven international airports with two major hubs; Lynden Pindling International (MYNN) here in Nassau and Grand Bahama International Airport (GBIA) in Freeport. Flights from North America and Europe offer daily arrival and departure schedules. The national airline is Bahamas Air.

Arrivals to Lynden Pindling International airport are quickly introduced to the sounds of the islands with a band at the door. Bahamian Goombay and Caribbean Calypso music echos through the corridors filling visitors with the Junkanoo spirit.   Customs agents are very friendly and helpful, moving travelers through quickly. For stress free clearance self-service kiosks offer automated passport control (APC). Just have your passport ready and the automated station takes care of the rest. Ushers are ready and waiting at the outside ramp to get you into a  taxi, rental, or  private car service for a speedy start to all things paradise awaiting you here in Nassau the capital of Bahamas.

While travelers will experience tropical paradise with the lure of a big city, The Bahamas has so much more to offer beyond the shores of New Providence. Hosting over 700 untouched islands and cays you will find uninhabited beaches, natural wonders, and exotic wildlife. It is a must to get out to the smaller outer islands. Flying into The Bahamas every traveler gets their first exposure to the most stunning views of a crystal clear turquoise sea, sand bars, coral reefs, and sparsely developed islands. Many times the clarity of the waters below allow the passengers above to see marine life in action. From this moment the traveler begins to ask, “How can I get to these Out Islands?”.

Ferry Service 
Comfortably cruise the seas to destination of your choice with indoor and outdoor accommodations. The ferry provides scheduled services reaching out islands within approximately 2-4 hours depending on destination. Returning to Nassau same day is not always available. 

Mailboat
The mailboats are a great way to get from island to island on the cheap - but you do need to be somewhat adventuresome! It's not the fastest or most comfortable way to go but it's definitely cheaper and more interesting! Traveling by mailboat, the passenger will have to plan several days at destination before mail truck returns for pickup. 

 Day Trip Excursions
Adventure powerboats and Harbour Safaris  offer excursions to selected out islands.



Exumas
Visiting this chain of cays, travelers will find the critically endangered Exuma iguanas, swimming feral pigs, and nurse sharks. Thunderball Grotto cave and a sunken DC-3 with a kaleidoscope of brilliantly colorful coral reefs provides a home to exotic marine life setting the stage for a magnificent day of snorkeling.



  Andros
The largest of the Bahamian Islands, here visitors will experience nature at it’s finest as this is the most sparsely developed of all the islands. Snorkelers will be mesmerized as they explore the world’s 3rd largest barrier reef, while fishermen will delight in the wetlands providing channels perfect for bonefishing. This island is commonly referred to as the Bonefishing Capital of the World.





Abacos
This 120 mile chain of islands is where travelers will find the Hope Town Lighthouse. One of the few remaining in the world still manually operated. 

Eleuthera
This is where travelers will enjoy the sweetest pineapples in the world while strolling along 35 miles of pink-sandy beaches.


The Berry Islands

Here you will find numerous sandy coves set among cliffs, caves, excellent shelling, and creeks filled with wildlife. The famous 600 ft Blue Hole providing a perfect environment for oysters is also a must see when visiting.
